Welcome to fourhostfirstnations.com
Welcome to the newly re-launched website for the Four Host First Nations. The Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games are fast approaching, and with them the launch of the 2010 Aboriginal Pavilion or Chiefs' House, as we call it. The Chiefs' House is our invitation to the world to come and learn about the diversity of Aboriginal people in Canada. We also invite you to experience the Aboriginal Artisan Village and Business Showcase.
We've redesigned fourhostfirstnations.com to make it easier for you - the visitor - to find out what there is to see and do at the Chiefs' House and the Aboriginal Showcase. We encourage you to check back every day to keep up to date on all of the exciting events taking place from February 12-28 at both venues.
Each day brings an exciting new element to the Chiefs' House as our Aboriginal partners from across the country seize their moment in the spotlight to showcase their singers, musicians, artists, and businesses. A feature story will be posted every day highlighting the upcoming day's events and providing some background on the participants. For instance, day three of the Games sees the Stó:lô Nation from southern BC kick off the day's action. Visitors will sample some of the rich culture and history of the Cree people on February 16th, and four days later is a celebration hosted by the Inuit entitled, "The People Behind the Inukshuk."
Our new site offers a full multi-media website experience. Check out the "Interact" section for our latest video, pictures, and sounds from the Chiefs' House and Aboriginal Showcase. If you can't be here in Vancouver to experience the Chiefs' House for yourself, you can follow the events through our Photo Gallery. Our photographers will be hard at work capturing the special moments from our busy schedule so you won't miss anything. The site will also host videos celebrating unprecedented Aboriginal participation in the Games and profiling Aboriginal business success stories. Also available for download are a very unique collection of ringtones featuring incredible music from a variety of Aboriginal performers.
We are excited to welcome you to the Chiefs' House and the Aboriginal Artisan Village and Business Showcase. We like to call it, "the world's biggest potlatch." We hope you will join us in being part of this once-in-a-lifetime celebration.
Visit fourhostfirstnations.com every day to stay on top of what's happening and come down to visit us in person at the 2010 Aboriginal Pavilion (Chiefs' House) and the Aboriginal Artisan Village and Business Showcase.
